2021 Sacramento Valley Weimaraner Club Specialty

December 30, 2021 by swc

The Sacramento Valley Weimaraner Club (SVWC) hosted four independent specialties May 8 – 9, 2021. The show was organized quickly by club secretary Debra Hopkins, show chair Esteri Hinman, and all the club members they could rally for a warm, breezy weekend that attracted an impressive 50 entries. SVWC found a beautiful park with plenty of large shade trees, gathered lovely trophies for all the show winners, hosted a fun Saturday evening Greek dinner at the Hinman property, and even gifted all the dog moms in attendance with long-stemmed red roses for Mother’s Day. Thank you for all the hard work, SVWC! SVWC would like to thank Judges Mr. Channing Sheets, Mrs. Eva Berg, Mr. Kenneth Berg, Ms. Sheila Polk, and Ms. Kathryn Cowsert for their attendance. Esteri and Debra would also like to thank each other for great teamwork and the following members of the village it took to made this event happen: Mara Wildfeuer (trophies), Kathy Dunn (hospitality), George Hinman (on-site coordination), Eric Brickson (audio), and Jakob Hinman (photographer). — By Esteri Hinman

2021 Southland Weimaraner Club Retrieving Ratings

June 13, 2021 by swc

On June 13 SWC held a Retrieving Ratings Test at Prado Dog Training Facility in Chino, CA. The day dawned clear and
sunny, with hot temperatures forecasted. We had an entry of 10, all in the Novice level. Everyone got there early so we
started with laying out the land course and we measured all the dogs around 7:30. We were ready to go 5 minutes before our scheduled start time of 8am! All the handlers were on top of it, being ready on deck without having to look for anyone all morning so we were able to finish up before it got hot. All the dogs (and I hope all the handlers) had lots of fun, with everyone cheering for everyone else. Great sportsmanship and support were shown by all. We had seven qualifiers, but the other three looked like they could be ready with just a bit more training. Congratulations to everyone on their new NRD titles!
