A message for September 2013:
We need photos and brags! The more information we have, the more fun the website is to browse. We’ll take brag photos, show photos, other event photos, etc. Anything you are willing to share. Please submit photos to Kim directly at the email provided below.
We also need a logo! We’re overdue for a “new look.” Through the month of September, we will be collecting membership votes for a new logo. Numbers 1 through 8 were submitted by Doug Davis and Skye Rose Davis. Please note these are draft markups; the actual logo will be a much more refined version of the drawing you see below. Number 9 was submitted by Kim Burnell. Number 10 is the existing SWC logo. Numbers 11 through 14 were submitted by Michael Rochester. If you are handy with graphics skills and would like to submit a logo for consideration, please contact Kim as soon as possible. Otherwise, we’d appreciate your help by providing your name in the comment section below with your three favorite draft logos. Note: Your vote will NOT be published below, even though you hit the “Post Comment” button. Every person listed on the current membership roster can vote for up to three logos. The top three choices will be refined and resubmitted for the membership to vote on in October. The new logo will be revealed at the November general membership meeting.
Example comment: “My name is Martha Kinship and I would like to vote for # 2, # 7, and # 10.”
Any questions? Comments? Concerns? Please email Kim at the email provided below.
Thanks!
– Kim Burnell/SWC Webmaster

We use AKC judges, Canadian Kennel Club judges, UKC judges and judges from Europe and Australia to make it an International title. All dogs receive a written critique. No time limits on the judge. They can spend as much time as they need with each entry. The dogs compete against the standard and not against each other. If they are judged excellent to the standard they may receive an International Title. Therefore, more than one dog in a class may earn an International title. Please note rules for puppies and adults are different as far as titles are concerned. Puppies and adults never compete against each other. We have a BIS adult and BIS puppy. We spotlight the breeder handlers with a Best Bred-by in Show competition. We have groups and BIS and an ultimate BIS for the 4 shows of the weekend where all BIS compete for the Jane Roppolo Memorial Grand Sieger.

Holiday Dog Treats
It’s the time of year when everyone indulges in special treats, but holiday favorites such as turkey scraps and chocolate are harmful for dogs. These homemade treats are dog-friendly and delicious, with a hint of holiday flare. Make some for your special dog and more to share with other canine friends!
Pumpkin Peanut Butter Biscuits
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat or barley flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 3 tablespoons peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Stir dry ingredients in medium bowl. In separate bowl, whisk together eggs, pumpkin, and peanut butter. Add egg mixture to flour mixture and knead thoroughly. Dough should be dry and stiff; add small amounts of water as needed to make it workable. (If dough is too sticky, add small amounts of flour.) Roll dough into half-inch thickness and cut into half-inch pieces, using knife or cookie cutters
Bake about 40 minutes, or until hard and dry.
